Neighborhood Rummage Sales

Many of Muncie’s neighborhoods are working together to organize and host rummage sales. Please check back as this list will be updated as new sales are advertised.

Robinwood: May 16^th (8:00 am – 12:00 pm)

Ludingwood: June 5th – 7th (starting at 8:00 each day)

East Central: Saturday, June 6^th(8:00 am – 2:00 pm)

Indian Village: Friday & Saturday, June 12th – 13th (starting at 8:00 am each day)

Old West End Bazaar: August 8^th

Thomas Park/Avondale: September 12th (8:00 – 1:00 pm) in conjunction with and located at the Avondale United Methodist Church

*The Delaware County Sheriff’s Department created a short blog to educate the public on rummage sale safety.

World Changers Looking to Repair Homes in Several Neighborhoods

According to an article posted in the Sunday, May 3rd edition of the Star Press, World Changers will be returning to Muncie this summer to do exterior repairs on a total of approximately 20 properties within the Blaine, McKinley, Gilbert, East Central and Whitely neighborhoods. World Changers’ work may include foundation or porch repair, vinyl siding, door or garage repair, house painting, wheelchair ramp/accessibility items and other miscellaneous repairs. In order to qualify for the program, homes must be home-owner occupied, be located in the target neighborhoods, be current on sewage and tax bills, and have property insurance. Owners must submit an application and provide proof of income. A PDF version of the application is available below. It is also available at the City of Muncie’s Community Development Department office,online, or at the Kennedy and Maring-Hunt libraries. Applications are due by 4 p.m. May 22 at the Community Development Office.

PHOTOS: May 02, 2015 – Neighborhood Clean-ups

Members of the East Central, Forest Park, Blaine, Southeast, South Central, Industry, and Pettigrew Acres Neighborhood Associations partnered with the Muncie Sanitary District to help clean-up their communities. The first date of the spring clean-ups was May 2nd. Volunteers helped pick up trash and debris alongside their neighbors. Thank you to all those who helped beautify the city as part of the spring neighborhood cleanups.

December 06-07, 2014 – Victorian Christmas Annual Holiday Home Tour

East Central & Old West End Neighborhood Associations hosted their annual Holiday home tour on Saturday, December 6th from 4-8 pm and Sunday, December 7th from 1-5 pm. Tickets were $10.00 each (children 10 and under free) and were available for purchase at the Emily Kimbrough Christmas shop, 715 E. Washington St.

October 26, 2014 – Magical Great Pumpkin Carving

Washington St. was closed from Vine to Pershing for games and prizes for the kids along with a free pumpkin carve and take home. This year’s games were the Magical Pumpkin Cupcake Walk, Pumpkin Golf, Pumpkin Penny Pitch, and Pumpkin Bucket Beanbag Toss. The free event was sponsored by the East Central Neighborhood Association.

October 17, 2014 – All Things Pumpkin

The East Central neighborhood purchased the historic Emily Kimbrough house and hosted a fundraiser to help raise funds for its rehabilitation and reuse as a community gathering place. The All Things Pumpkin fundraiser included a tour of two of the neighborhood’s most prominent painted ladies all decked out for All Hallow’s Eve, along with a tour of the Emily Kimbrough home.
