December 16, 2014 – Neighborhood President’s Council Holiday Party

The Muncie Action Plan hosted a holiday party and awards event for the neighborhood association presidents, board members and their families. The mayor opened the celebration with a thank you to the presidents for their continued efforts to improve their neighborhoods. Jim Wingate and Ginny Nilles of MAP’s Task Force 2 handed out awards to each neighborhood and Heather Williams awarded the associations that collected the most trash in the Spring and Fall 2014 cleanups. Isabelle Sowers also handed out awards to the top volunteers and thanked everyone for their help in canvassing neighborhoods during 2014.

The group meets on the third Tuesday of each month on the third floor of the E.B. and Bertha C. Ball Center (400 W. Minnetrista Pkwy) at 6:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

We need your help!

We’re beginning to plan the March 2025 IDEA Conference and it’s our 10th YEAR! In celebration of this milestone, please help us select sessions you would like to see return from the past 10 years. We’ve prepared a quick survey for you to select your four favorites or to provide feedback on what new sessions you would like to attend.

Hey neighbor! Our August NLC meeting was engaging and we learned a lot about trust from our friend Mitch Isaacs, Executive Director of Shafer Leadership Academy.   For those who were not able to attend, we wanted to make sure you had a copy of the presentation and for the CenterPoint Scholars a copy of the homework.

Speaking of crowdfunding…   Patronicity just announced its Lighter, Quicker, Cheaper Challenge (LQC Challenge). This is a new challenge grant program from Patronicity. Changemakers with projects that use Lighter, Quicker, Cheaper strategies to make improvements to communities that are inexpensive, flexible, and quick to deploy are eligible to participate!   If your neighborhood is not a 501c3, MAP has a way to partner in order to utilize the organization’s non-profit status. MAP’s mission is to improve quality of life in our community and is here to help!
