The Kenmore and Gatewood neighborhoods partnered together to line their streets up to and along Guthrie Park and the Kitselman Center with luminaries. This created a beautiful scene for all to enjoy.
December 16, 2014 – Neighborhood President’s Council Holiday Party
The Muncie Action Plan hosted a holiday party and awards event for the neighborhood association presidents, board members and their families. The mayor opened the celebration with a thank you to the presidents for their continued efforts to improve their neighborhoods. Jim Wingate and Ginny Nilles of MAP’s Task Force 2 handed out awards to each neighborhood and Heather Williams awarded the associations that collected the most trash in the Spring and Fall 2014 cleanups. Isabelle Sowers also handed out awards to the top volunteers and thanked everyone for their help in canvassing neighborhoods during 2014.

December 13, 2014 – Forest Park Christmas Party
Forest Park Neighborhood Association held a family Christmas Party at the Delaware County Senior Citizens Center on Saturday December 13th from 3pm-5pm.
Children were required to pre-register and live in the Forest Park Neighborhood to attend the party and receive a toy.
Forest Park took donations of “NEW TOYS” with a maximum price of $10.00 that were given to a child attending the Christmas Party.
Jeanette Maxfield played Christmas music from 2:45 pm-3:15 pm before Wayne Hinkle, Magician, preformed at 3:30pm. Santa Claus arrived at 4:00 pm atop a fire truck. All of the children and their guests had a wonderful time at the party.
December 06-07, 2014 – Victorian Christmas Annual Holiday Home Tour
East Central & Old West End Neighborhood Associations hosted their annual Holiday home tour on Saturday, December 6th from 4-8 pm and Sunday, December 7th from 1-5 pm. Tickets were $10.00 each (children 10 and under free) and were available for purchase at the Emily Kimbrough Christmas shop, 715 E. Washington St.
Hardest Hit Funds
Muncie was awarded $2.88 million dollars to spend on the acquisition and demolition of blighted and abandoned properties within Muncie. The qualifying properties were identified based on a matrix system provided by the State of Indiana and are scattered throughout the city’s neighborhoods. Sun Uniting Neighbors Grant Program
