DESCRIPTION:Composed by Gaetano Donizetti\nDirected by Dr. Jon Truitt & Cara Chowning \nGaetano Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love is a charming romantic comedy set in a rustic Spanish village\, where shy peasant Nemorino longs for the heart of the confident and clever Adina. Convinced that a magical potion will win her love\, he buys a phony elixir from a traveling quack—only to find himself tangled in a web of rival suitors\, misunderstandings\, and unexpected fortune. With its delightful melodies\, including the famous aria “Una furtiva lagrima\,” this opera bubbles with humor\, heart\, and the magic of true love. Perfect for newcomers and aficionados alike\, The Elixir of Love is a timeless tale of hope\, charm\, and serendipity. \nThis is the first of two performances. The second performance is at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday\, November 23. \nTickets are sold through the College of Fine Arts Box Office located at Sursa Hall online at bsu.tix.com\, by phone at 765-285-8749\, or in person. \nParking is available in the McKinley Parking Garage (entrance on Ashland Avenue) located immediately south of Sursa Hall. Metered parking is available on the first floor of the garage until 7 p.m. at which time parking is free.
