SUMMARY:Animation Showcase Reception
DESCRIPTION:March 25 to April 10\, 2026 \nThe School of Art invites the public to attend a showcase of work by students from the BFA in Visual Arts/Animation program\, including the Animation Production\, Game Art/Design\, Illustration\, and VFX concentrations. Students will display artworks created as part of their schoolwork\, representing a dynamic range concepts and styles. This is a great chance to see the exciting art being made by some of the School of Art’s Animation Majors! \nReception is from 4 – 6 p.m. on Wednesday\, April 1.\nAll exhibitions will be in The Ned and Gloria Griner Art Gallery\, just off the Atrium Food Court in the Arts & Journalism building. Free and open to the public.

SUMMARY:A Journey in Microcosm - An Artist Talk with Jiyong Lee
DESCRIPTION:Jiyong Lee is a studio artist and educator based in Carbondale\, Illinois. He has taught at Southern Illinois University since 2005\, where he leads the glass program. Originally from Seoul\, Korea\, he received his MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology. Lee has taught and exhibited internationally\, with work shown in venues including the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris\, the Tallinn Applied Art Triennial\, and the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize. His sculptures are held in collections such as The Corning Museum of Glass\, the Barry Art Museum\, Samsung\, and Chanel.

This recital is free and open to the public. \nThis recital will also be offered as a livestream – visit the Concert Livestream Page to watch live. Streaming begins approximately 15 minutes prior to scheduled concert start time. \nParking is available in the McKinley Parking Garage (entrance on Ashland Avenue) located immediately south of Sursa Hall. Metered parking is available on the first floor of the garage until 7 p.m. at which time parking is free.

The group meets on the third Tuesday of each month on the third floor of the E.B. and Bertha C. Ball Center (400 W. Minnetrista Pkwy) at 6:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. \nCome hungry!
