Funding

Neighborhood associations can apply for project funding through the following avenues:

NEW: Beautification & Event Project Fund
The Beautification & Event Fund supports beautification efforts led by new and established associations throughout Muncie. It is made possible through the generous support of the Zeigler Foundation. Each neighborhood may only receive one allocation of up to $200. More details.

Neighborhood Project Fund
The Neighborhood Project Fund supports new neighborhood associations and projects initiated by established associations throughout Muncie. It is made possible through the generous support of the Ball Brothers Foundation. Each neighborhood may only receive one allocation per calendar year, not to exceed $500 in total funding. CreatINg Places Crowdfunding Grant Program
The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) and Patronicity.com offer the “CreatINg Places” place-based crowdfunding grant program for projects in Indiana communities or neighborhoods which contain a traditional downtown or traditional neighborhood commercial node. Non‐profit entities and local units of government are eligible to apply.

Eligible projects must raise at least $5,000 (up to $25,000) through Patronicity to be considered for matching funds from IHCDA. More details.

Impact Grants
The Delta Phi Chapter of Tri Kappa in Muncie awards a $10,000 grant to a local nonprofit organization for projects that benefit the needs of citizens and organizations in Muncie and Delaware County, reach a broad segment of the community with needed services which are presently not provided, enhance or improve institutional or organizational self-sufficiency, and/or act as a catalyst for action and community participation. Charitable Grants
The Delta Phi Chapter of Tri Kappa in Muncie awards grants from $250-$1,000 for work that generally focuses on the areas of charity, culture and education. More details.

Clif Bar Family Foundation
Small grants (around $7,000) are awarded for projects that address the following:  1) Protecting Earth’s beauty and bounty, 2) Creating a robust, healthy food system, 3) Increasing opportunities for outdoor activity, 4) Reducing environmental health hazards, and 5) Building stronger communities. Applications are reviewed three times a year; the deadlines are the 1st of February, June, and October.  Grants awarded during a particular cycle will be announced at the beginning of the following cycle.

Home Depot Community Impact Grants
The Home Depot Foundation offers grants, up to $5,000, to IRS-registered 501c designated organizations and tax-exempt public service agencies in the U.S. that are using the power of volunteers to improve the physical health of their community. Grants are given in the form of The Home Depot gift cards for the purchase of tools, materials, or services. Our primary goal is to provide grants and volunteer opportunities to support the renovation, refurbishment, retrofitting, accessibility modifications, and/or weatherization of existing homes, centers, schools and other similar facilities.

Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-serve, rolling cycle. The 2018 program will open on February 1, 2018.

State Farm Good Neighbor Citizenship Company Grants
State Farm grants for community development are directed toward: 1) Affordable Housing, 2) Job training, 3) Neighborhood revitalization, 4) Small business development, 5) Financial literacy, and 6) First-time homeownership. The 2018 application window is now closed; applications for 2019 will be available September 1, 2018 through October 31, 2018.
